Innovative Solutions for Modern Analytical Challenges

The Evolution of Sample Introduction

The journey of sample introduction in atomic spectroscopic analysis has seen a significant transformation. Initially dominated by solid samples and methods like a-c arc and d-c arc, the field shifted towards liquids with the advent of flame photometry, AAS, and ICP-OES. This shift was driven by the improved design of pneumatic nebulizers and a better understanding of liquid sample introduction systems, which offer more repeatable results compared to solids.

Addressing the Challenges of Solid Samples

Direct analysis of solid samples presents challenges related to homogeneity, physical and chemical form, and sample transport. Converting solids to liquids resolves these issues, although it introduces new challenges in preparation chemistry. This involves not just the destruction of the solid but also the preparation of a stable and compatible solution for accurate analysis.

Comprehensive Sample Preparation Guides

Our sample preparation guides provide detailed, element-specific information, addressing:

  • Preparation and Solution Chemistry: Methods for preparing samples containing specific elements.
  • Chemical Incompatibilities and Tendencies: Managing potential chemical conflicts.
  • Hydrolytic Stability Data and Effect of Ligands: Ensuring stability in aqueous solutions.
  • Preferred Matrices: Optimal conditions for various elements.

These guides are designed to offer practical information, helping analysts prepare sample solutions for accurate and reliable analysis.

NANOCOLOR® Aluminium Standard Test Kit

The NANOCOLOR® Aluminium Standard Test Kit uses photometric determination with eriochrome cyanine R, forming a red-violet colored complex in weakly acidic solutions. This kit includes:

  • 20 mL Aluminium R1
  • 20 g Aluminium R2
  • 2 x 100 mL Aluminium R3
  • 2 x 100 mL Aluminium R4
  • 1 measuring spoon (85 mm)

Key Features:

  • No Hazardous Substances: The test is free from harmful substances requiring special labeling.
  • Interference Management: Clouded samples should be filtered. Fluoride interferes, but other ions within specific limits do not.
  • Versatile Application: The method is suitable for various sample types, including sea water.

Procedure:

  1. Preparation: Use volumetric flasks (25 mL) and piston pipette with tips.
  2. Sample and Blank Preparation: Fill to the 25 mL mark with distilled water, mix, and pour into cuvettes.
  3. Measurement: Follow the manual for NANOCOLOR® photometers (test 1-02). For colored or turbid samples, use the correction value key.
  4. Quality Control: Utilize NANOCONTROL Multistandard Drinking Water (REF 925 018) for analytical quality control.
  5. Disposal: Dispose of cuvette and flask contents by washing with plenty of water.
